St.
John Vianney School > Grandparents
At
St. John Vianney Parish School we realize the importance
of grandparents in the lives of our children. Many of
you are here each day picking up students after school.
Several of you have given presentations in Hawaiian
Studies or religion classes. Others involve yourselves
on the playground, in fundraisers and Country Fair.
Others, of course, are raising your grandchildren yourselves.
Even grandparents who live far away want to know how
their grandchildren are progressing and to share their
school lives.
Some
years ago we had an active Grandparents Club. We sent
our grandparents the monthly newsletters and information
about what is happening at school. We invited them to
special events. Grandparents who lived on the mainland
or outer islands would come to visit the school when
they were in town. In fact, our current band program
was begun with instruments donated by a grandfather
from the mainland who asked what the school really wanted.
Grandparents are great supports to us, whether monetary
or as volunteers or simply in their prayers.
Just
by virtue of being a grandparent, you are a member of
the club and will receive our mailing. We ask that you
fill out the enrollment form
and return it to us so that we can know you better.
Thank
you for all you do and may Gold bless you.
Yours
in Christ,
Ms.
